Still There: My New Seattle Art Exhibition at Columbia City Gallery
Exhausted, Grateful, and So Happy
The show is finally on the walls.
After weeks of painting, drawing, framing, hanging, and thinking about nothing but this exhibition, I feel equal parts exhausted and exhilarated. For the last month my days have started with coffee and a paintbrush. I'd work until I needed a break, then spend the rest of the day with sketches and ideas swirling around in my head so I could hit the ground running the next morning. It's a wonderful way to work—but it leaves very little room for anything else.
Seeing everything installed at Columbia City Gallery has made every long day worth it.
The exhibition, Still There, brings together eleven new paintings inspired by West Seattle alongside something I never imagined I'd be showing again—four of my large stone lithographs. Those prints have been quietly tucked away in my studio for years. I always felt they belonged to another chapter of my life. I'd occasionally pull them out during private studio visits because of their size, but I never seriously considered exhibiting them.

I'm incredibly grateful to my fellow members at Columbia City Gallery for encouraging me to bring them out into the world again. Sometimes it takes other artists to remind you that old work still has something to say.
One of the biggest surprises has been watching people stop on the sidewalk, look through the gallery windows at the lithographs, and come inside. There is no better feeling than seeing someone drawn in by a piece of work you almost left hidden away.
If you're in Seattle, I'd love to see you at the opening reception on Saturday, July 18, from 5–7 pm. I'm honored to be exhibiting alongside fellow artists Ashley Hale and Lori Duckstein.
Still There runs July 15–August 23 at Columbia City Gallery (Wednesday–Sunday, 11 am–7 pm).
Right now, I'm allowing myself one evening to simply enjoy seeing it all on the walls before I dive into whatever comes next.
