Original Paintings
My first encounter with Portugal was thirty years ago. Tiles climb the faces of buildings, blues and ochres holding the sun, beauty refusing to remain contained. I returned recently for weeks in Lisbon and Porto, where music leaks from stone, grit hums beneath sweetness, and the warmth of people steadies the day. These original paintings come from that long, unfinished looking, and are meant to bring Portugal’s color, rhythm, and quiet persistence into the rooms where you live.
In this 15 x 12 oil painting, a cobalt blue door meets blue and orange tiles and patterned cobblestones—simple elements that echo Portugal’s enduring streetscape.
