Original Paintings
I come to Spain mostly through Granada, late nights in flamenco bars, the room going still before the first note lands, smoke and palmas and a chair scraping stone. By day the city opens into white walls and breathing courtyards, and Spanish slows down enough to enter the body; I paint from inside that rhythm, not as a visitor collecting scenes but as someone the place keeps letting in. These original paintings are small portals to that Spain—warm light, worn textures, bright doors—meant to bring the feeling of Granada’s intimacy and after-dark hush into the rooms where you live.
This 15×12 original oil painting depicts a Moorish door from Granada’s Albaicín neighborhood, set into a terra cotta–painted plaster wall. A horseshoe arch framed with patterned Moorish tiles rises above the door, while wrought iron and the suggestion of a garden tree soften the surface—an intimate glimpse into the layered history and quiet beauty of the back streets of Granada.
