My Favorite Way to Share Art: Pop-Ups and Community
By the time February rolls around, I’m fully checked out of New Year’s resolutions. But pop-ups? I am very into those.
Most days, I work alone in my home studio. I show my husband what I’m working on, I post things on social media, and when I have a gallery show, there’s the opening—great energy, great conversations—and then it quiets down again.

Pop-ups are the opposite of quiet.
Pop-ups are where I get to actually see people react to the work. Someone stops. Someone smiles. Someone laughs and says, “Oh my god, I know this place.” Stories come out—about late nights, first dates, family traditions, neighborhood rituals. And sometimes people don’t say a thing at all… they just stand there, smiling. Those are always my favorite moments. You can tell when a painting hits something personal.
I love asking people what their favorite piece is. I love hearing why. And I really love when someone can’t quite explain it—but you can see it all over their face. That’s the magic.
So I’m excited to say this week marks my first pop-up of 2026 🎉
Thursday, February 12th, I’ll be at the Valentine’s Night Market at Old Stove Brewing (Garden location) from 5–9 PM.
Come say hi. Bring a friend. Have a drink. Tell me your favorite place—or point at it and smile. That counts too. These pop-ups are about connection, stories, and finding the places that stick with us.
Buy art. Buy local. Support your neighborhood artists.🍻🎨
