Holiday gift ideas under $50 Paintings of Seattle dive bars, coffee bars and fish bars

As an artist, I am constantly exploring new themes and subjects in my work. My current series is focused on the dive bars of the Ballard and Phinney Ridge/Wallingford neighborhoods. Watercolor is my medium of choice these days to create small, realistic paintings of these beloved local establishments.

Using a palette of carefully chosen colors and a meticulous attention to detail, I aim to create realistic and authentic depictions of these spaces. I pay close attention to the play of light and shadow, and strive to capture textures and surfaces of the objects and spaces depicted in my work.

But it's not just the physical spaces themselves that inspire me – it's also the people who frequent these dive bars. From the regulars who can be found propped up at the bar night after night, to the newcomers who are just discovering the joys of a well-poured pint, these establishments are hubs of community and connection.

Through my current series of watercolor paintings, I hope to capture the unique charm and character of these beloved dive bars, and to convey the sense of community and connection that they foster. Whether you're a regular or a newcomer, there's something special about a dive bar – and I'm grateful to be able to capture that magic through my art.
